Cost Savings:

The traditional telecine model is obsolete and is quickly being replaced by the file-based workflow.

While Telecine requires Multiple passes (lo-res for dailies, hi-res for final edit, grading and effects), Scanning only needs a single hi-res pass for HD dailies, final edit, grading and effects.

Telecine uses complex and costly video equipment, operators and gurus based on a linear workflow that wastes resources and time, as opposed to our non-linear workflow that maximizes resources and saves time.
Scanning the film once to high resolution files divorces the colorist from the injest device allowing the grading to occur in "reel-time" (offline and concurrently). In this regard, scanning is faster than telecine.

Our graphical user interface enables you to quickly choose scan parameters based on your needs, such as full density 2K DPX scans, HD dailies and/or SD proxies.

You can select the range of frames to be scanned by Keykode, timecode or frame number. You can also specify the image's position and size on the film, output format, resolution and even apply color timing (printer lights) to simulate the resulting projected image for QC purposes, without affecting the scanned image data.
